Sometimes we focus a lot of energy on what is not working well. We try to identify problems, fix them, and make adjustments so as to avoid them in the future. This can be very effective in keeping things working smoothly, in maintaining the status quo.
Another approach, one that might expand possibilities, would be to focus more energy on identifying what is working well – exceptionally well – and trying to replicate it.
